Last week Blyth RFC submitted a Planning Application to Northumberland County Council for the redevelopment of the site. This includes provision for the following;

• Four new floodlights,
• A Multi Use Gaming Area (MUGA)
Included within these is also plans for new footways and the replacement of our existing floodlights from Halogen to LED in addition to new drainage improvements on our Main and Training Pitches.

Funding is now secured for a significant proportion of this, and we have established costs for the remaining elements. This application, when approved is valid for several years which gives us ample opportunity to deliver all the floodlight works by the end of 2024 and at least start on a MUGA by the time the application lapses.

This year marks a significant step in Blyth RFC evolving as place to train and play. We will over time look to officially make ourselves this the best place for rugby in Southeast Northumberland.
